Private tours to Fagradalsfjall Volcano in Iceland, also known as Geldingardalur. This is a great opportunity to visit an active volcanic area while you are visiting Iceland.
You can book the best option according to your fitness level, schedule, and budget.
The GROUP volcano tour: Running 3 times a week (Monday-Wednesday-Friday).
This tour is about 3 hours total and focuses on the new lava field at Nátthagi and the view from the volcanic crater from Langihryggur. It takes less than 30 minutes to the lava field and another 45 minutes to the viewpoint. This is the easiest and accessible tour for anyone with a standard fitness level, requiring some walk and hike.
The maximum on each group is 10 persons per guide to ensure that we comply with the COVID guidelines and avoid hastening between different paces while hiking. This option is not tailor-made, and other guests will be on this trip.
The PRIVATE volcano tour: Running daily and tailor-made based on your fitness level.
The tour is about 4 to 5 hours total and takes you closer to the crater through Langihryggur, Merardalir, or Geldingadalur. This is a more challenging hike, and we recommend a medium fitness level, as we cover more areas with elevations. Booking this option you can also upgrade to the evening-night tour starting at 7:00 pm. With the evening-night tour, we have the possibility to explore the area in the best safest way, using headlights and walking poles.
During the Northern Lights season from September until April, the evening-night tour is perfect to enjoy the beautiful Aurora Borealis (weather dependent). You will have a dedicated private guide only for you on the private tour, and no other travelers will be on the same journey.
Both tours are weather-dependent, and we will adapt the tour to the daily weather conditions.
