TOUR DESCRIPTION

Snaefellsnes Peninsula is a truly magical place, often referred to as “Iceland in Miniature,” given to the peninsula because of the diversity of its landscapes. This beautiful area is only about two hours from Reykjavik and offers incredible scenery for photography enthusiasts.

The volcano's glistening ice cap, Snæfellsjökull, lava fields, caves, waterfalls, volcanic features, and fishing villages make Snæfellsnes, Iceland’s smallest National Park, the most unique place to visit. The 90-km (55.9 mi) long peninsula is among the few locations in Iceland with golden and pink beaches.

Around the peninsula, you will see stretches of lava fields, impressive crevasses, waterfalls, and attractive villages where you can taste cured sharks! The stunning overview of the Snaefellsjökull glacier, a dormant stratovolcano, is 1446 m (4744 ft) high with a  200 m (656 ft) deep crater.

Some believe it is one of the world's seven chakras (energy centers). Many people have a hard time sleeping while visiting Snæfellsnes due to the magnetic energy from the glacier.

We will visit the breathtaking coastal features like "Londrangar cliffs," which you can see in the famous tv show Game of Thrones. We will explore the "lava landscape" and have time to take a short walk through the "lava fields" near Arnarstapi hamlet.

We recommend taking the optional lava tube or "cave tour" at Vatnshellir cave near the glacier to discover the wonders of the península from below. This cave is well known for "probably" being the main inspiration for the classic science fiction novel "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth" by Julius Verne.

Join us for this full day of adventures and excitement with this tour to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Iceland.
